for national day celebration,
all year 1 have to wear red.

i was thinking...
if everyone in our class will wear camp t-shirt.
cos the whole of R4 is wearing camp t-shirt.
and also many other year 1 will be wearing it too.

of course, we can change out of it after the celebration.

OK homework... :D uh

IHSS - you have to do the WS mrs.yeo gave you... the one on tribes and stuff. the one about the comercial famring (which btw we dont have to do -the commercial farming that is since our lessons havent covered that yet)

MATH- i cant be bothered to write down the questions but there is a LOT and theres a WS which you're suppose to have which says the question numbers you're supposed to do on your math TB

ENGLISH- read the lit book. the files of something something.. hee hee i dont remember... but yeahh. and the green WS which has 3 poems on it. 2 of which you're suppose to memorise and another one about the kinds of imagery

MEDIA ED- you're suppose to find a poster and/or newspaper articles on the environment and write something about it. details are on the WS. its the second part of the WS, the first part is just about the lessons we're gonna have in T3

ARC- uhm.. not sure about the other class (cause we're in seperate classes.. i think its the same) there are 2 stories in which your suppose to do certain tasks like underlining sentences and then on the second story your suppose to write an essay on the purpose of art. so your suppose to have a WS with the stories AND the questions (the questions are stated at the end of the WS)

uhhh.... what else :|:| (im just writing the hwk from what i remember k?) uhhh...

OH YEAHH

IDU 100 word essays on what we learnt about EVERY IDU lesson before the most recent one we had. (including the most recent one we had)

for VA students you have to visit SAM and look for an artist (sorry forgot who hehee) and write or sketch something about him and for ceramics you have to paste magazine cut outs of ceramic peices into your sketch book... and some other stuff.. forgot too :| heee hee :D:D

At a fundraising dinner for a school that serves children with learning disabilities, the father of one of the students delivered a speech that would never be forgotten by all who attended. After extolling the school and its

dedicated staff, he offered a question:

'When not interfered with by outside influences, everything nature does, is done with perfection.

Yet my son, Shay, cannot learn things as other children do.

He cannot understand things as other children do.

Where is the natural order of things in my so n?'

The audience was stilled by the query.

The father continued. 'I believe that when a child like Shay, who was mentally and physically disabled comes into the world, an opportunity to realize true human nature presents itself, and it comes in the way other people treat that child.'

Then he told the following story:

Shay and I had walked past a park where some boys Shay knew were playing baseball.

Shay asked, 'Do you think they'll let me play?'

I knew that most of the boys would not want someone like Shay on their team, but as a father I also understood that if my son were allowed to play, it would give him a much-needed sense of belonging and some confidence to be accepted by others in spite of his handicaps.

I approached one of the boys on the field and asked (not expecting much) if Shay could play.

The boy looked around for guidance and said, 'We're losing by six runs and the game is in the eighth inning.

I guess he can be on our team and we'll try to put him in to bat in the ninth inning.'

Shay struggled over to the team's bench and, with a broad smile, put on a team shirt.

I watched with a small tear in my eye and warmth in my heart.

The boys saw my joy at my son being accepted.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Shay's team scored a few runs but was still behind by three.

In the top of the ninth inning, Shay put on a glove and played in the right field. Even though no hits came his way, he was obviously ecstatic just to be in the game and on the field, grinning from ear to ear as I waved to him from the stands.

In the bottom of the ninth inning, Shay's team scored again.

Now, with two outs and the bases loaded, the potential winning run was on base and Shay was scheduled to be next at bat.

At this juncture, do they let Shay bat and give away their chance to win the game?

Surprisingly, Shay was given the bat. Everyone knew that a hit was all but impossible because Shay didn't even know how to hold the bat properly, much less connect with the ball.

However, as Shay stepped up to the

plate, the pitcher, recognizing that the other team was putting winning aside for this moment in Shay's life, moved in a few steps to lob the ball in softly so Shay could at least make contact.

The first pitch came and Shay swung clumsily and missed.

The pitcher again took a few steps forward to toss the ball softly towards Shay.

As the pitch came in, Shay swung at the ball and hit a slow ground ball right back to the pitcher.

The game would now be over.

The pitcher picked up the soft grounder and could have easily thrown the ball to the first baseman.

Shay would have been out and that would have been the end of the game.<>

Instead, the pitcher threw the ball right over the first baseman's head, out of reach of all team mates.

Everyone from the stands and both teams started yelling, 'Shay, run to first!

Run to first!'

Never in his life had Shay ever run that far, but he made it to first base.

He scampered down the baseline, wide -eyed and startled.

Everyone yelled, 'Run to second, run to second!'

Catching his breath, Shay awkwardly ran towards second, gleaming and struggling to make it to the base.

By the time Shay rounded towards second base, the right fielder had the ball ... the smallest guy on their team who now had his first chance to be the hero for his team.

He could have thrown the ball to the second-baseman for the tag, but he understood the pitcher's intentions so he, too, intentionally t hrew the ball high and far over the third-baseman's head.

Shay ran toward third base deliriously as the runners ahead of him circled the bases toward home.

All were screaming, 'Shay, Shay, Shay, all the Way Shay'

Shay reached third base because the opposing shortstop ran to help him by turning him in the direction of third base, and shouted, 'Run to third!

Shay, run to third!'

As Shay rounded third, the boys from both teams, and the spectators, were on their feet screaming, 'Shay, run home! Run home!'

Shay ran to home, stepped on the plate, and was cheered as the hero who hit the grand slam and won the game for his team

'That day', said the father softly with tears now rolling down his face, 'the boys from both teams helped bring a piece of true love and humanity into this world'

EAST COAST TRIP FEEDBACK (dun dun dun..)

OK. The class (you guys) were more well behaved then usual! :) And your class cooperation has improved a lot (thank you) You're class togetherness was there but still not quite there, but that takes time so you were pretty together. We may not have won the (stupid) game but we got Mc.D's (in yo'face R6) and we had fun (riiight..?) Our class spirit was awesome! (I might've been too insane but whatcha expect??) Thank you to those who helped out (you know who you are) and to THE WHOLE CLASS in participating and cooperating well (hopefully we could be more together) And I'd really love to see these kinds of R3-ness more often :) And I'd love to see it improve. Sorry if I was too bossy or cranky today but I have anger issues xP. To those who didn't enjoy the trip sorry :( just tell the cmc any feedback on anything at all that you think will help benefit the class :>

short feedback (in my own opinion sorry) for IHSS I think that the class did pretty well but there still were some people who seemed to not care as much or be as involved with the game. we need YOUR ideas!!! If you have any ideas on how to decorate the classroom please email it to the class email address. OR if you have any old furniture... like an old carpet OR stuff toys OR old pillows or something like that JUST BRING IT (not compulsory like we're not forcing you. And as part of the class please be respectable to peoples things. And as a class please try to participate and contribute even a poster of your favourite singer or band or something to put up on the wall is good :) Even colored paper and stuff that you think will look nice in the class PLEASE JUST BRING IT! (again its not compulsory. It's OUR class -yours, ours, mine yadayada. If you feel not comfortable with sharing, it's perfectly fine. But when you do feel that its "safe" -teehee- to share then yes please do. Don't worry. Not everything will end up like cloverfield the class mascot not the movie :P

MATHS

Get your parents to sign your maths assesment WS then file it
File your other math WS in a blue ring file (small one) and bring it to the next maths lesson
If you haven't completed the two questions mr.teo asked us to do for the maths WS please do it :)

OTHER REMINDERS:

You need a file (thin) for PE to keep all your handouts in, by next PE lesson. You don't need to buy a SOTA one, you could re-use an old one but it has to be a thin file.
You also need a ring file (doesnt have to be a SOTA file as well) for service learning, you'll be using that file for 2 years (so til year 2)
VERY IMPORTANT!! : Bring $5.35 on TUESDAY for your REPORT BOOKS (you need to purchase it) The collection will be first thing in the morning assembly after announcements and flag raising. :> please try to bring the exact amount of change.

MATH: It's not really homework. But if you WANT to you could do it. I suggest you do cause then there'll be less work to do on the actual day plus its good practice. (The worksheet with lots of sums we were given today)

will be doing the duty for odd week.

the arrangement is according to ur register no.

since all our PE lessons are before break we get to wear it to school! (YAY) BUT you HAVE to bring your polo tee to change into after PE. SO for everyday we have PE lessons please pack and your polo tee!!! (uniform) (and yes that means this coming monday we pack a polo tee and wear the PE shirt to school. Your choice if you want to pack any other stuff like extra shorts?? but i seriously think you shouldn't cause theres no point. -unless you're a guy...)
